Does not affect anything mechanically. Reel functions smoothly. Has some pitting here and there mostly on the spool mount plate. These are rugged old school reels and when properly maintained they can last a very long time.

Unsure of when the last time it was serviced recommend at minimum oiling before use and or opening up, cleaning internally, applying new grease as needed. Has a crack on outer ring opposite side from the reel handle as shown in photos.
